• Child sexual abuse occurs when an adult or child uses another child for sexual pleasure.

• Child sexual abuse involves forcing, bribing or in some other way, manipulating a child into sexual activity.

SEXUAL ASSAULT in adulthood can cause serious and long term psychological distress.

 

• Adult sexual assault involves forcing or manipulating an adult male or female into sexual activity.

•  Adult sexual assault is often planned by the abuser who creates or uses any opportunity to assault you.  

SEXUAL ABUSE is not gender exclusive.  Abused and abusers are both male and female.

In most cases of SEXUAL ABUSE, the abuser is known and trusted by the victim and can even be part of the family, this includes spouses and partners.

SEXUAL ABUSE is never your fault.
