Clinical Practice Placements

The NEXUS Institute offers counselling placements to trainee counsellors to enable them to develop their skills through clinical practice. Placements must commit to a minimum of one year, for approximately four hours a week. The NEXUS Institute will provide professional supervision and additional training at minimum cost to placements.

Volunteering

Clinical Practice Placements

Entry Requirements:

• Prospective placements have completed at least one year of a diploma counselling course working towards a Diploma. Equivalence might be considered.

• Placements are required to have a minimum of fifty hours supervised counselling practice.

Application Procedure:

• Prospective placements are required to complete an application form supported by references.

• Meet with a member of staff for an informal discussion.

• Attendance at a workshop providing further information. This provides an opportunity for questions and offers a forum for mutual assessment before commitment on either side.
