Education Worker - Gail Ratcliffe The programmes I deliver are aimed at providing sex education like it is. Discussing sex and relationships can be embarrassing for young people so I do my best to present in a light hearted, down to earth way. I go into a group open minded, sharing informaiton that will keep young people safe.
We talk about, and I answer questions on, just about everything STI's to sexual development and self-image. My approach provides a safe and supportive environment for young people to explore their thoughts and attitudes to the issues that are important to them.
Each programme is designed individually as every group has different needs, you cannot standardise people. I also provide individual sessions with more vulnerable young people. All sessions are age appropriate and include relevant aspects of teenage culture.
The work I do is very importand in creating a platform for young people to develop a healthy and informed attitude to making decisions regarding sex and relationships. The programmes are there to explain and protect - not to preach or encourage. Comments from Our Participants in Adult Training Workshops: "I found this training very moving and powerful and I have had a glimpse of the effects of abuse."
"I found the facilitator presented the course in a useful way but also in a sensitive way (ie not just factual), I liked this. I also feel I gained useful insights and knowledge and that it was worthwhile going on the course."
"A most professional handling of a difficult and uncomfortable subject led to a lot of knowledge being gained."
"The content of the course was extensive and well covered by the tutor. He gave me a greater insight on topics that were only superficially known to me."
"Excellent, well worth getting out of bed on a Saturday morning." Email:
